The game has more than 140 characters from the Marvel universe. Players are able to create, and have an online or cooperative game, for four players. In Arcade mode you must obtain the highest number of deaths to obtain experience points at the end of the level. There are also special comic missions that are obtained with “simulative discs”, returning to a moment in the past of a character in which he faces a classic rival. The characters can use up to four suits, which can alter the character’s stats.
Players will fight in air, land and water, with totally destructible and interactive environments in more than seventeen places, traveling through different parts of the Earth, in other dimensions, and even in the depths of space. The game has alternate endings, affected by the player’s decisions through the game. These completions are based if the player chooses to complete the optional missions.
The game is very rewarding for fans of the Marvel characters, offering bonuses and winks to fans who are informed about the stories of the comics. By building teams with characters with shared stories, they can give team bonuses (for example, by choosing Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and Ms. Marvel, they train the Avengers and then offer an attack boost bonus to each character). The use of particular characters to interact with non-playable characters within the base can give an additional dialogue, just like the villains with their nemesis. The game also features trivia games, works of art and many more references from the Marvel universe.
Another feature of the game is that the characters are represented in their Ultimate version, but the world and some villains are represented in their original form.
